Profile
Udy Edet was born in Nigeria and came to the U.S. while in elementary school. She grew up in Washington, DC, but now resides in Tucson, AZ. Udy is a self-taught artist who works in oil, watercolor, and alcohol pigments. She has studied with masters in the U.S. and taken workshops at The Art Students League in New York City.
Udy's work utilizes the broad canvas of nature and often paints the female form. Her work evokes feelings of fantasy and celebrates the beauty of nature and of the natural. Her's is the art of affirmation and harmony. The canvases evoke the mystery of an ephemeral moment. Udy has drawn inspiration from Alphonse Mucha, Gustav Klimt and many different artists that celebrate beauty and gift us with a respite at each glance.
Udy's work is available on line and at select art fairs in Arizona and other sites in the western United States. Her work has been displayed in galleries in the Midwest and the East and her art hangs in homes across the U.S. and in Europe. Check the link for current exhibits and shows.
